glorious ghumushar-1
Once upon a time in our state, my area was fumes for art and cultural activities. On that time this area was a Feudatory Estate and known as Ghumusara Province (now part of Ganjam District, Orissa). So many kinds of artists’ like- craftsmen, singers, lyrics, writers, folk dancers etcetera were living over here. Now that art and cultural activates are going to lapsed and artists are diverted there mind for doing another work. I wanted to save this art and cultural activities because it is like a diamond treasury of our country. So I paint and give the actual shape of this Art and activities are on my canvas. It might be save my area’s culture for up-coming years. The name of this painting series is “Glorious Ghumusara”
GLORIOUS GHUMUSARA-1
My painting “glorious ghumusara-1” is based on Bharat Lila folk dance. (Bharat Lila is an example of presenting the stories from epics with expressive acts & dances. It is the most colorful presentation of folk dance performed & prevalent in Ganjam District of Orissa. Its theme is taken from epic Mahabharata. The small incident of Subhadra Parinaya (wedding of Subhadra), a beautiful part of the epic Mahabharata is the primary theme of the performance. It is shown how Lord Krishna appears in the play & does the role of mediator between Arjuna and Subhadra and helps to precede the love slowly progressing to a positive end.)
In this painting I paint two dancing girls, one is subhadra and other is satyabhama. I paint some handmaid instruments like ghudiki, dasakathia and khanjani on the beck side of dancing girls. They are using these instruments during the time of folk dance play. I pasted some ornaments and gorgeous cloths on my painting that are wearing by them at the time playing. I have taken world fumes biranchinarayan temple’s mural arts as the back ground of this painting. I also paint peacock feather on my painting as a symbol of lord Krishna, who is the hero of bharat lila folk dance.
